Governance structure

The association is governed by its members. The annual general meeting approves the financial statements, the activity plan and the budget, and elects the board. The board — chairperson, secretary, treasurer and members — is responsible for day-to-day operations and meets several times a year. Board positions are unpaid.

Financial transparency

Income consists of membership fees, voluntary donations and project grants. All funds are used for the association's stated environmental purpose; no profit is distributed to members. Accounts are prepared annually, reviewed by an appointed operations inspector and presented to members at the general meeting.

Ethics & conflict of interest

Board members declare any personal or commercial interest in matters under discussion and withdraw from those decisions. We do not endorse commercial products, and we do not accept funding that would restrict our ability to speak publicly about the state of the lake.

Data protection & safeguarding

Member and contact data are processed in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the Finnish Data Protection Act. Activities involving young people are always supervised by at least two adult volunteers.

Verification contact for reviewers
